I can't forget my photos from India. These are a key part of my portfolio. "Pilgrimage in Varanasi" documents hundreds of woman walking along the Ganges River in Varanasi as part of Panchkosi Parikrama, the most significant festival for the women in India. They will traverse the city for the entire day ending at the Golden Temple. They walk with provisions balanced on their heads. Sony A7R3 70mm 1/800@f5.6 ISO200

The dead tree in "Tree in Reflection" is located in one of my favorite photography places near Alton, Illinois. The pond very near the Mississippi River floods frequently and the trees that once stood here have long fallen except this one. I love London for all the interesting modern architecture. Some of the best can be found in newly renovated train stations. The roof at King's Cross was constructed as a tree with branches. On a bright sunny day, the light streams into the skylights and casts interesting shadows on the travelers. I explored the views from various angles and from the food court on the mezzanine. One of my favorite photos from the year was taken in Shawnee National Forest. An easy trail leads to the top of Jackson Falls, Shawnee National Forest, Illinois, but to get to the bottom is another thing entirely! I was determined and completed probably my most advanced hike. Chicago Illinois skyline night reflection. I love to photograph Chicago's skyline at night, but the reflections aren't always apparent in the lake. I've enhanced the city's reflection to show the beauty of the city at night.

This year, I continue to add to my spiral staircase collection, ever on the lookout for this specific architectural feature. I love the shapes the spiral makes at different angles. This staircase is at Heal’s furniture store in London just off Tottenham Court Road. I published the staircase from the top, but I always take a look at both the top and the bottom of the staircase for a different views. In the case of Heal’s, they have a little, almost private, sitting area at the bottom – I guess they’ve had visitors to the staircase before ! My favorite photos from the air show in St. Louis. It’s a lot of fun to try and track these fast-moving planes as they whip by overhead. I was off the fairgrounds, which can work for or against me – sometimes I get shots others won’t get when the planes are getting ready to fly over the crowd, but sometimes I may not see the action if it’s low over the crowd. I will say it was more comfortable to be where I was - at a party with other photographers. Nice photos & nicer company! And I didn’t have to fight the traffic. .
